panasonic rs-462s question about plug port

the port on the side that says remote what is this plug port for is it for a walkman ? using the double ended headphone plug kind of like an audio in ?

Old tape recorder microphones had two plugs - one smaller than the other. There was also an on-off switch on the microphone that acted as a remote when recording.

Damn I threw one of those microphones away because it had 2 plugs, oh well.

Yes. It is specifically for the two-plug remote control microphone. However, you can still use a regular, single-plug microphone in the larger port. You just won't be able to start/stop recording.

Interesting....although the recording would only be in mono unless you had another mic

Ether way it's a nice little box cool speaker covers and weighs a ton for it's size
