Panasonic 5250 cleanup

I identified this model as my favourite small or mid-size unit from the combination good looks and outstanding sound.

Overpaid for one off the bay with some kind of bonding/cement all over. Possibly used on a construction site but it cleaned up nice. The switches needed work. Belts are good. Fully functioning except a loud cassette buzz but I'm leaving that for the time being. This is only my second time working on something and it was part two of my apprenticeship for preparing to open up my grail.

These are great sounding for a smaller box, plus it has a proper line in. Had one ages ago but traded it for a Sharp GF9494...couldn't refuse that deal! Just bought another to replace it :-)

Well done frontside on picking a cracking little box! :-)

Panasonics are pretty well built and sound 'good' and very clear, but I like MASSIVE earth moving speakers, so most Panny's just don't tickle my fancy. I had the 5250 and had to let it go.

I imagine it sounds much like the 5150..anyone verify that?

Good looking radio....when you guys say "Little Box", what size comparison are we talking bout. I don't have a 5150, but it is something I really want. I love the looks of these.

The 5150 is a little bigger than a TRK-8080 or an M9990. The 5150 is 'deeper' than a lot of boxes due in part to the circuit boards being installed horizontally. They look really solid from side on if you know what I mean!

well done,i had the 5250,for about an hour once (right si lol),and wished strongly id never,ever parted with it :sad: the humming deck is just a small prob-hit play and record simultaneously ten times fast with a blank cassette in and it should sort that (sorry for the techy info on this forum,i know its not allowed in this section-naughty boy :lol: )
