Hi there. I have a list of boomboxes which i have-dont have, and i would like to get some of them, but i do not know the price range of the boxes, because it varies heavily on sites like ebay etc...
Here the list: Crown CSC 980, Aiwa TPR 990, JVC M70, Sharp GF 9000, National RX 5350, National RX 7000, Sharp GF 777. Price range example: lets say write the box name like Sharp GF 777 and then the range xxx-xxx $. The boxes should be of good shape(Could have some minor scratches or smnth).
Thanks for replying. :afro:
PS: The price range should be optimal not like those 3000$ M90 on ebay (which is absurd in my opinion).

It really depends which Ebay site you use. Ebay US and Germany are a lot more expensive than the UK or Australia.

I could give price ranges on Ebay, but trying to do it outside Ebay is pointless because some people will jump in and say "The M70 is only a 10 quid box, because that's what I bought it for at a boot sale", like as if the average person worldwide has any chance of duplicating such a deal.

Let me rephrase that. I know this community is quite vast so i thought there should be some set average prices for boomboxes. Like Boombox A is worth an average of xxx-xxx$ in good condition while boombox B is worth etc.

Yea ok ive brought a gf 777 for $250 and a freind payed $800
So blah blah and hey we have an average $525
And someone payed $50 for a m90 and someone else
Payed $2600
So blah blah and i think we have $1325
So start watching epay and your a smart man do the maths
Because this is some old story you pay an average of what you want
Or ask someone to sell you there gf777 and they will say ok my average
On that boombox is $1200

I don't think there are any shortcuts with box collecting... You'll have to invest the time and effort into figuring this out the hard way...

The one thing I've learned the five or six years of paying attention to boombox prices is that they are a moving target.

g'luck.

Typical Ebay US ending bids, assuming fully functional boxes with only minor cosmetic flaws, and assuming that the auctions ended during normal hours, not when most people are asleep or away for holiday:
M70 $325-475
TPR-990 $200-350
RX-7000 $500-800
GF-777 $600-750
RX-5350 $600-1000
The rarer the box, the wider the price range.

A box is worth what a seller is willing to sell it for and a buyer is willing to pay for it.... The Boomboxery and S2G law!!!!

The most IMPORTANT thing is you need ot have a budget in YOUR head

if you think that ANY item (be it a radio or a carton of soup) is too expensive - THEN DON'T BUY IT AND MOAN ABOUT IT

THINK FIRST
WALLET OUT LATER

Do your homework - watch ebay - check the adverts on classifieds - and most important of all CHECK COMPLETED ITEM PRICES!!!!!! These are the prices people are selling items for NOT ASKING - big difference.

I hope you get what you want - these things are not rare or exclusive - they all come to those who wait.

Some pay a little more than others - others a LOT more than the rest

make sure you're part of the former

Thanks for replies ^^. Well i always knew not to buy something that in my mind is overpriced. But i got some lead from Reli with those ranges. I got my M70 Cheaper than the low end of that price range(so i think im quite lucky because it has NOTHING broken or scratched). Anyways thanks for your help guys, really apreciate it :afro: .
