theres flowers blooming the sun is shinning and they are scrambling around trying to keep snow that has been trucked into bc and placed on top of hay bales from melting by packing dry ice around it.....
i predict epic fail of the snow making efforts.

look for new sports to be born from this.
land surfing.
hill water skiing
ski diving

in the future they will look back at this historic event as the starting point of the spring olympiads of the future.

too bad no one listened when all those people were saying but...... it is not cold enough in vancouver in febuary

Well, no one in the U.S. will be watching anyway. We blow our load on the Super Bowl and hibernate until March Madness!

gordie there is a a lot of good things out here but.......
there is also a huge ammount of really crappy things. i mean one only has to venture through the vancouver downtown eastside at night to see that this city of vancouver has serious serious problems.
i mean some might say oh dont be silly its not that bad,but i dont think any of them have really been through the parts of the city that turn into a live action version of night of the living dead at night.

seriously tho the city is beautiful but having a olympics here in the winter is just crazy. i mean it was thirteen degrees here last week. the mountain for the snow boarding and freestyle skiing is all brown except for the trucked in snow.

they built a new subway system out to the airport wich is kind of good for the olympics but still none exists between the main hospital and the two universities .
they re did the sea to sky hiway that was a really dangerous hiway, but people decided to drive faster now and there is more accidents there than ever before.
they built a huge trade and convention center i think that cost two billion dollars and the roof leaked right out of the gate.
i mean so much money has been spent on a two week event and the government has pretty muched based the future economy on these things and well i just dont see the future of bc after the olympics being to great.
this olympics cant come in on budget i mean they are trucking snow around the clock to the ski hill i mentioned and using helicopters around the clock.
there is just no way there is going to be a surplus.

all kinds of people were evicted from there homes here because the people thought they were gonna make huge money renting there houses for thousands of dollars a week. some of them did ok with this but most did not.

vancouver is super expensive to live now. i mean your looking at thirteen hundred dollars minimum for a down town one bedroom apartment of any quality. that is basically going to be a bachellor. yep you can slum it down there for about a grand a month in a old run down building but who the hell wants to do that.
its just really pathetic i mean a detached home in vancouver of three bedrooms in a nice nieghbourhood is going to be way way way over a million bucks maybe closer to one million three hundred thousand.

so now back to the olympics today felt like a spring day i mean its really warm here and sunny i could have rode my bike in shorts and a t shirt .
thats warm man and well i just think that a lot of people are going to end up here and ask themselves what the hell is going on.
theres lots to do here if the sun sticks around but..... traditionaly on average of the fourteen days the olympics takes place here it pours rain for nine of them....
i dont know but i cant see anything they can do on a hill with a bunch of hay on in to shore up the snow is going to work.
its all wrong man.

its just crazy man.
