I do Civil Engineering (for my real job) directly related to Fuel Station canopies. When you go to a gas station to fill your car, look up - that's what I do. I inspect canopies for the state of WI, get involved with the hands-on fab work and stuff in the shop so I'm not sitting behind my desk all day.

So, we have jobs (canopies) that have shipped to St. Thomas, USVI as well as a 'kiosk' at a fuel station that doesn't have a store. 2 people work inside this kiosk to do money transactions with the customers buying fuel.

The kiosk is a small building 8' tall, 4' wide, 6' long. They need an addition built to one end of it to make it 9' long and give the workers more room.

Usually our install crews are sent down to build the canopies or that kiosk, but they are all so busy with local work that only the owner of 1 crew said he could go, but had no one to take with to lend a hand. I designed, wired, and did some of the fab work on the original 4'x6' kiosk and I designed all the parts for the addition.

So, I said I would go down to get the job done (we all say '"I'll go", when a St. Thomas job is ready to ship. Kind of a joke because we all know we won't be going).

Believe it or not, they set up my flight, hotel, and are paying me to go to St. Thomas to build this addition!!!!!

I'll be there June 6th - June 10th. Should only take us less than 2 full days to do the work.

So excited right now I can't even think straight! :surf:

Ira, I will try to see as much as I can while I'm there! Thank you for the tips.

I heard the 'islanders'/residents are very racist to most people that aren't native to the island. I won't be on a resort or a tourist area while I'm working so I'll be right in the middle of it. Should be interesting....

I won't have a choice where I can be when I'm on the job. When I'm not working I bet we will be in the tourist area just to be comfortable.

Regarding taking a boomer with you, if you put it in a carry on sized bag it can go in the over head, this would by pass any weight issues which means the M70 would be perfect. And you know that's plenty loud for all occasions INCLUDING beating back the loudness of the waves at the beach! :-D :surf:

Now, I have a M70, but which series should I take?

M70
M71
M75

???

M70 is stock. M71 was totaled, fixed, and has LED kit. M75 is stock (and rare). I'm leaning towards the M71 because it's gold, lights up, and is beautiful.

With Norms lighting kits, it becomes pure impressive eye candy! That's what I would go for!

Don't forget a fresh set of D's!

Hey Joe, that's awesome news, its nice to get a perk of the job once in a while

If you are taking one of your M70 series boxes, I would the take the least rare, worst condition model, just to be on the safe side.
