Yes these are very well built and heavy . there's no slop in this boombox . the build quality is excellent . it's a true example of a portable stereo . might not be as loud as a ghetto blaster but geared more towards sound quality.

It's my favorite, especially for 70's "pop". I bought this from the original owner in Europe and it was the best deal I have ever made on a radio. It's built like a tank and excels in nearly every category except bass. Bass wasn't that big back then. I love it for the music it was made for.
