ok so i thought this might be a interesting off topic discussion.
what are hmmm lets say five things about you most people would not expect or know.

hmmmm i will go first and hopefully not last lol.

1 i am hearing impaired lol so there goes anyone asking my opinion on a box. i have only one ear but i have extremely good hearing better than most people.
2 i once picked up a pickup truck that was stuck after it drove over a huge log and couldnt get free. lifted the back over fifteen inches and people stood stunned as i did it.
it really effin annoyed me no one bothered to lend a hand.
3 i havent worked a real job in almost five years. i earn money not much money by buying and selling muscial instruments .old bikes locally . i hate ebay and or dealing with shipping so i dont sell anything online. i pretty much never sell any radios tho lol.
4 i have a extremely good memory almost to the point of being a little bit frightening to some. i recently bumped into someone who i had not seen since grade one and i recognized them even tho they had no recollection whatsoever of me.
5 i have recorded and released music for the last eight years straight. my music has been played all over the world really i am not joking. i have even been invited several times to go to england and work with several really well know artists but never had the cash for the plane fare. even tho i am in my forties now most of my band mates are half my age or more than half. lol

I'll have to agree with your number one, I have slight hearing loss in one ear
I can remember phone numbers from 20 years ago but can't remember a birthday to save my life
I can look at something and figure out what is wrong with no training or background with the particular item.
I may look fat but I'm just big boned ( ok that one was just a joke) lol

ha :w00t:  :w00t:

i can relate to that stuff man.
i mean i remember too many old phone numbers dont know why or how but i do.

man i am not just missing my hearing in one ear i am missing the ear and the hole in my freaking head thats supposed to along with it.
one of the places i used to work i had a rubber ear i used to put in a coffee cup with fake blood the gag would be i would scream and one of my coworkers would get the fng to come out front and i would tell him i had caught my head in the paint shaker and took my ear off.
we quit doing the gag when one guy pissed his pants.
most of the guys were pretty good natured about it but i felt bad for freaking out that one dude so badly.
karma got even with me tho when i cut a digit on a piece of glass at work so it was hanging off by a thread of flesh.

I have worked at the same place since age 16 (now 34 with be 35 this august)
I am double jointed in my thumb - it can make a hard 90 deg backwards.
I had a bad speech impediment when I was young and made not talk to anyone - stayed at home and listen to my radio - rode my bike.
I only really had one girlfriend in my life - my wife whom I met at age 26.

The one part you all can figure out for yourself - I'm a dork.

thanks bill --

somewhere ??? in the massachusetts little league archives there may be pictures ??
but i have none :sadno:

and yes --joe louis was a great man with a very sad final story :'-(

that happens --to this day --to so many accomplished and famous folks-

so --fame and money and glory are not always 'the ticket' to the good life

Here are some of mine:

1) My hearing, on the other hand, is my best, if not the only, sense I have! About 4 years ago, I went to a audiometry test for this job as a mobile phone company call center operator. As soon as the test was over, the Doctor came out and looked at me like: "Whaa?". In her 25 years experience, she said that I had heard things that nobody had! I got a 100% perfect result. :-/

2) On march 7th 1998, I sang with LUCIANO PAVAROTTI, when he came to do a presentation in Valencia, Venezuela (where my parents place is). http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/6139/16938497560749e561aeb.jpg Photo of where the concert took place.

3) Once I spent 21 days on a deserted island and survived. Of course, I was with my best friends and stayed there in tents, tiki torches at twilight and lots of booze! :surf:

4) I was in the 7.1 Earthquake in San Francisco on October 17th 1989. (longest 16 seconds of my life, NOT fun) :nonono:

5) For a high school english (Mr. Bergstrom's) class I was the only one who memorized 100 esoteric words (along with their meanings, spelling and pronounciation) for extra points at the end of the year! I still remember the longest one: Osseocarnisanguineoviscericartilaginonervomedullary / is the word that describes the structure of the human body.

6) I have never killed anybody.

thats the only one that was actually witnesed by millions of out-of-towners......like me,
and the entire national baseball fan TV audience --
as the cameras were all on the announcers --that were broadcasting a world series game -

Yes Mr. Ira Boomus Fidelis, it was a day I'll never forget... if I concentrate enough I can go back and hear the sound it made again in my head. Not pretty... I was in class... and the teacher was writing some stupid thing on the board (as usual) and with the chalk in hand, he started to see the chalkboard move frantically up and down and that's when he said "IT'S A BIG ONE!!!" and we all of course ran outside with our hands up on the sides of our heads so they wouldn't hit the door frame that was waving side-to-side viciously. :grim:

did you san francisco kids have 'earthquake drills' in your schools ?

so that you would be somewhat cool and prepared for 'the big ones' ?

Well, I was 28 back then, and in College, but even though we had drills, table saws, and whatnot in Elementary School, we were not prepared for this one or any Big One! It's really freaky. Believe me! :'-(
Btw, what the heck is that Boomus Fidelis huh? When you're over 22.000 posts they give you one of those?
