so today i picked up a sony cfs-88s not knowing it was different from the one i had already.more power led peak different tuner and more

This is one of the coolest boxes from Sony IMO - sound is good and unique how they fold up with carry handle on top ..nice score :yes:

Sure enough. It's cool to find out differences like that. Makes each one that more unique :cool:.

Very interesting. My U.S.-market version is labeled CFS-88S, but it has the silver dial plate like your -88L. And mine has only 25 watts!

That's a good thing surely, that 3 watt difference would - assuming that you used both on the same supply - equate to the rough cost of a case of your favourite beer over the course of a year, say you used the box on average six hours a day.
The output power of both will be much closer and you'd not see any difference if you used your local version on your 117VAC supply.

LW one here please! That must be the UK and/or European version. :drool:
