It's no secret that they Mrs. FD loves music. Always listening to something. Recently, I had to drive to Atlanta for a few days for work. Me and the XM Radio were a-jammin'. At one point, I noticed that I was driving well over the speed limit. Quite simply, there are just songs that make me drive fast. They are:

"Renegade" Styx
"Life in the Fast Lane" Eagles
Just about anything from Motley Crue, but especially "Dr Feelgood", "Wild Side" and "Kick Start my Heart"
Just about anything from Kiss, especially "Detroit Rock City" and "I was made for loving you"
Just about anything from AC/DC, especially "Back in Black"
"Ain't Goin Down Til the Sun Comes Up" Garth Brooks (yeah, a country song....I know, but truly it does)

So how about it? Do certain songs make you drive fast?

55?
How on earth do the citizens of such a massive country ever manage to get anywhere with such a sloooooowwww speed limit? If you take into account the different lengths of our nations' respective mile, then that's only 51.7mph** here. How I wish I had the patience to drive at that speed.

**- Conversion accuracy not warranted, the value of the Mile may go up as well as down, close cover before striking, etc.

Best driving tune ever, IMHO:

Keeps you nicely below 80, for best results play loudly with the rear speakers doing most of the work. ;-)

55 is actually rare nowadays, except for the east coast which is full of limousine liberals.

Most highways are 65 or 70 now, and more than half of drivers disobey those too.

Here in MA, traffic laws are VERY loosely enforced. That said, the 55 MPH speed limit is more of a suggestion than restriction, though several Interstates are 65 MPH. It takes 75-80 MPH to keep up with traffic.
Edit: White Zombie's "Black Sunshine" helps me keep up in my slow-a$$ work van.

Screw driving fast, smoke a big fat blunt and do the trip to Sly and Robbie at 30 miles an hour, turns a 2 hour trip into a much more enjoyable 4 hours.

DUI makes it more fun
I know what you mean, Ira. I remember my youth, when it was legal to dui as long as you actually weren't drunk. The Police had wide latitude to decide if you were or not. Of course, where I live traffic was only 1/2 of what it is now, and as has been pointed out, speeds were lower.

I'm not sayin' it was right, I'm just sayin'. Today is different in sooooo many ways.

No Joke Ken, We would be in prison for a fraction of what we used to do. But there are a ton more people on the roads.

As for music that makes me drive fast....just about anything! LOL
