Nice little treat I forgot about came in the mail today

So I'm on the phone with Jimmy, talking boomboxes and sh*t...knock knock...usps gives me a small package. I open it and boom

can't wait to rip this open. I ordered it like a month ago for 8 bucks(I couldn't believe it) but the shipping would take a long time. Well, I forgot about it...yesterday my new Maggy came and today this...plus had my first conversation with Brooklyn's finest, Jimmy...nice 24 hour period

Love it...the book is amazing. Just recently got this great encyclopedia type book on graffiti and it lead me to boombox project. Sitting reading those with some old school electro thumpin...I almost ripped up the cardboard box my maggie came in and busted a f*ckin head spin!

You should, it's great. Found mine dirt cheap brand new. The pics are amazing, the stories are great. So good. BTW, I liked the don't talk to the police vid...watched the whole thing. Classic stuff. The lawyer was hilarious. You could tell he'd defend a dude as he's murdering somebody

Opening your mouth to speak to cops can & will get your a$s in trouble even if you've done nothing wrong!!

Ain't a damn thing funny about doing [strike]18 years[/strike] life based on a cop's so-called "testimony"!

Me too brother, funny how fast 2 hours goes by talking to a stand up guy about boxes and life...Thanks again for all the tips. Picked up most of the stuff and am gonna work on the boxes tomorrow.

You're gonna love it. I spent the first half hour just looking at all the great pics...but the stories....so good. Everyone from Kool Herc to Rosie Perez speaks...alot of different stories. A Fun read

I liked everything about the book except the choice of spike lee for the forward , who obviously doesn't give a crap about boomboxes getting to know the author of the book was a great privlage.
Lyle is a great guy and an avid collector!
