so i was in the city for the weekend, slightly rare occasion. was up and about early after a large friday night, in the belief i was going to have a good day.
first call of duty was my favorite little dump shop. i would say where and what name but someone might be reading this and discover boombox gems before me.
so got there about 10am. went straight to radio section. was only a shitty little samsung there. picked it up, had a walk around with it for a minute, just to get a feel for it. nope, didnt feel $20 worthy. put back.
after browsing the rest of shop for 15 minutes, i see the guy i purchased (full price) my M70 off, dont think he recognized me. i notice him standing next to an open garage door waiting for a girl with a supermarket trolley full of stuff, including a 'radio'. so i loiter around waiting for her to empty trolley, as well as other guy. radio goes on shelf last, arhhh. i wait for other guy to look first. he puts straight back down.
i grab, look... really really good condition, shiny, no scratches at all, perfect aerial, mint Sanyo C35.
got what i came for, paid an left. happy days.

not the most gangster of boxes, but sweet condition. ill add iv also found a National RX CW26, Sanyo M9975, MS500 and a MX960 at the same shop. its almost a sanyo factory

If I had scored a Big Ben there, I would be there like, every day (and twice on Sunday!)

A Sanyo factory? :hmmm: That would be so cool.

Nice C35. I had the silver version bought new in '85/'86. Don't leave it in direct sunlight as the tuner windows warp from exposure to heat!!

James.... :-)
