Over the last few weeks I have been scanning the for sale section here on Boomboxery as well as ePay looking for something to add to the collection....I haven't been in "Buyer" mode for some time because I told myself that I was going to be diligent and work on the radio's that I have and gets some of these projects to completion. The "Louder Blaster" was one of them.

So, with so many projects handled, I told myself it was time to add to the collection....

I found on craigslist this TRIDENT DX-6000. I spent the last 3 days working with the seller to get my hands on it. We were some distance apart. He really helped me out when he said he was going to the beach about 50 miles from where I live and agreed to meet me there

The price seemed fair, but with out really seeing it or knowing the condition, it was hard to tell if it was worth the the money he was asking. Of course I was ready to pull from my bag of tricks "As a Collector and Know It All".

But when he popped the back of his SUV and it was sitting there...."I" almost shait myself (I have no poker face :sadno: )

100% working, both decks, tuner, aux....and SPOTLESS. Turns out he's a collector from some time back, used to be on S2G but just laying low, slowly selling a few here and there  (He didn't tell me his name on S2G and I didn't ask)

So, here she is....I gave her a light dusting....that was it....this thing is PRISTINE :w00t:

Here is an idea of size next to the M70

And here it is with the GPX Louder Blaster. These two are VERY similar, I think some of the same design cues were used in both.

Beautiful radio Chris...how does it sound?

It sounds pretty darn good....I am just getting into it....haven't really let it loose, wife is home and all ;-) Tomorrow I will let'er FLY.

But all the controls are clean and not scratchy, EQ is smooth. Got a good tuner, both decks & line in work  all LED's work, smooth antenna's.

Nothing bad to report at all

IT IS THE CLEANEST RADIO I HAVE

I think there are allot of AKA's or REALLY CLOSE versions of this box. The Helix 4636 and the GPX 990 have allot of similar parts, speaker rings, back venting, side molding, handles.

The Trident is bigger in all directions than the GPX though. It's longer, taller and deeper.

The guy was super cool, I told him how far I was driving and he OFFERED to meet me at the beach 50-60 miles closer for me....We did the money transaction with our cell phones via paypal, he confirmed it and I split with the radio.

It was like a 30 second drug deal   :weed: :angelic: :-O

That black and chrome seems to fit into your musical tastes and style too!

I did the "in person" paypal transaction once when buying a Cadillac, found some Wifi and used my buddies laptop! :-D

It works....I guess it's easier than paying at an atm?

I started out on all silver one piece radios and now I got some MONSTER BIG BLACK BOXES! I may have to do an all black box picture! :w00t:

Thanks man....not bad for a lazy Sunday afternoon

Here I am literally 5 seconds after the purchase. I put my phone in my pocket, threw her up on my shoulder, stepped back and the seller took a quick pic
