Over the last few weeks I have been scanning the for sale section here on Boomboxery as well as ePay looking for something to add to the collection....I haven't been in "Buyer" mode for some time because I told myself that I was going to be diligent and work on the radio's that I have and gets some of these projects to completion. The "Louder Blaster" was one of them.
So, with so many projects handled, I told myself it was time to add to the collection....
I found on craigslist this TRIDENT DX-6000. I spent the last 3 days working with the seller to get my hands on it. We were some distance apart. He really helped me out when he said he was going to the beach about 50 miles from where I live and agreed to meet me there
The price seemed fair, but with out really seeing it or knowing the condition, it was hard to tell if it was worth the the money he was asking. Of course I was ready to pull from my bag of tricks "As a Collector and Know It All".
But when he popped the back of his SUV and it was sitting there...."I" almost shait myself (I have no poker face
)
100% working, both decks, tuner, aux....and SPOTLESS. Turns out he's a collector from some time back, used to be on S2G but just laying low, slowly selling a few here and there
(He didn't tell me his name on S2G and I didn't ask)
So, here she is....I gave her a light dusting....that was it....this thing is PRISTINE
Here is an idea of size next to the M70
And here it is with the GPX Louder Blaster. These two are VERY similar, I think some of the same design cues were used in both.
