bobby thanks i already have it but thats really a nice offer. i am more of a ableton user nowadays but logic is still cool.

so far i have managed to get the old mac outta there and hooked up in the boombox room . it took a bit of shuffling but its good.
now i have to clean the other room a bit more then get to work installing the new mac and figuring out how to work with things now.
this is going to be a ton more work but hey its worth it.

this one should be pretty good. i should be able to do many many tracks of audio with it and it should really help me to accomplish some more ambitious recordings.
well its gonna have to wait till tomorrow i am done in i just unplugged and untangled close to three hundred cables and well when i close my eyes all i see is patch cords.

well everything is hooked up now and after a eternity of software updating its all ready to go for tomorrow mornings recording session. i got my prosonus audio interface all hooked up and rearing to go.
i am pretty sure i will be in there for the entire day with the new rig.
pretty stoked. i have to say that the computer seems extremely fast and i am looking forward to finding out how fast she is in the next while. i might upgrade to eight mb of ram but i will have to see.

Sweet, Bill! I'm slowly trying to get back into the groove. How is Ableton when it comes to recording vocals? What about Cubase? I'd be using the software on a Windows platform.

abelton is hands down the best program for performing live electronic music using software. its like a visual mpc sampler where you can see everything you are going to drop in before you hit the pad.
its a really revolutionary program.
however vocals i would most likely record all the aiffs in wave recording program then open them in which ever software i was sequencing them in.
cubase and ableton can both do this well but i find it easier to work with a wave editior before even opening the other programs.
i record all the waves first then go from there.
