Recently I got a new member in my collection; a boombox, that I know from the past, but that was much to expensive for me at that time. The RFT SKR 550 from East Germany. As I remember, it was produced from 1986 to 1989. The price was 2250 GDR Mark, what was the average salary for 3 months.
I got it repaired from a guy, who has worked as a repairman for the RFT devices long ago.
The optical status is very good, and all works now.
It has some nice features, e.g. manual record level adjustment and sounds quite well.

A very unusual control layout! RFT definitely went their own way. Sometimes they used no Japanese parts at all!

:-) Interesting machine.

In the beginning of 90s I had a monobox by RFT - my sister bought it
in Dresden, was built like a tank and worked many years - the first radio with FM for me.

That's a cool looking boombox !.
There's about 10 different Russian boombox models I would love to own . I missed the boat not looking closer at these when I could have afforded one.

I should have said cold war era boombox , not nessesarly from Russia.
