I was very skeptical about just how useful one of these little netbooks would be ,
but I bought a little asus 900 Eee Pc a couple of months ago and have found I use nothing else.
I am even going to sell my present one to upgrade to another Eee PC to get a few more bells and whistles .
so have any of you converted to these little marvels ?

i think they're cool but are a little slow for my uses. for things like email and forums? they're great. my dad has a HP netbook and he loves it.

I "think' I have one. Bought it at costco, an Acer -- small bugger. Problem is that the screen is smaller than I'd like. I also really prefer full size keyboards. Learned my typing skills the old fashioned way -- on old IBM typewriters and I really need the tactical feel of the keyboards. Even standard size notebooks put such a damper on my typing ability I feel like I'm being choked since I can't "output" the letters fast enough to my liking. Old guys with enlarged prostates will know what I'm talking about

I find this is perfect for enlarged prostates being it is small enough to make the frequent bathroom trips with me...LOL

I use a regular 14.1" screen Compaq V2000 series notebook. Upgraded RAM to 2GB, put in a 160GB hard drive, and even installed a top of the line socket 754 AMD 64 mobile processor with 2.2ghz and the large Cache size. While its not a screamer by today's standards, when hooked up with an AT&T modem card I get outstanding results surfing the web. And performance is more than adequate for photoshop or music applications.

This laptop is going on four years old and still kickin pretty strong. No netbook for me just yet!
