I was looking for the last couple of months to pick up a Christmas boombox for myself. I had been looking in the usual places (ebay, craigslist, etc.) but nothing jumped out at me. Then I get a message to check out an auction on ebay that is about to end and has been overlooked by collectors, including myself. I put in a very low bid just to see what happens because I figure it will get sniped in the last few seconds. To my surprise I win the auction for the paltry sum of $30!

Well it finally arrived today and after a little cleaning and de-oxit on the controls it sounds wonderful! This little Sanyo C7 has a very clean and powerful sound. Solid bass and very clean highs for a wonderfully balanced sound. The only problem I have with this boomer is it has no aux input, just phono. Luckily I have phono input attenuator so it works as an aux-input....here are some pics, she looks as good as she sounds.

I'm glad the grapevine worked out for you and you saved that great boombox. The C7 is a hoss - AND - yours has the back cover that is oftentimes missing.

Definitely an overlooked box, and a true component system that can be separated into 3 pieces. I have the Siemens version. A keeper for sure. The strong handle is my favorite part.

I really need to get myself a phono / line attenuator so I can enjoy my C7 more. Who knows... I might even get myself another set of Diamond Audio component speakers for mine. :-D

Bobby... It's really not that hard to retrofit a 1/8" stereo jack and add line-in. Ask Melvin how his line-in retrofit worked out for him.
