So we all know about this Boomer and what we all think about it. Well damn nobody said the bad things about this radio called 3 Speaker Boombox.
CON's
#1: FM/AM reception blows no matter what you do!!! No telescoping antenna!!! A rinky dink wire antenna provided by TDK does nothing, it's better suited for flossing.
#2: 12 D batteries?!?!?! It's heavy already without them!!!!
#3: Program updates if not updated properly will render this unit useless as it did me for the last 3-4 days after getting the unit. I thought I could do it with my Mac but noooo, it can only be done via PC (Apple haters!! :annoyed: ). Then when I did it with a PC it came corrupted and killed my TDK!! (f@ckin PC's
)
PRO's
#1: Sounds F'n sweet like no other boomer I own!!! MUCHO BASS!!! No distortion at any level of volume!!
#2: Parts can be ordered online. (sub-woofers 15w @ 4ohms, coaxial speakers 10w @ 4ohms!!!!) from http://www.fox-international.com
#3: Looks great with it's piano black shiny color
#4: Inputs, Inputs, Inputs and Inputs.
So back to the problem of my dead TDK
I met up with bk sound because him and I PM'd one another about his childhood boombox. The coveted GF-777z. He said he ordered one online from Japan but had issues with delivery. He also said he won a 777 from the same guy I won my donor C-100f from. I warned him that that guy doesn't know how to pack a radio for anything. He later found out I was right. Feeling for my new friend I told him I had one. New in the box! He asked to come meet me at my house to see what I meant by "new in the box" and I said "ok". (of course with my 9 at my side!!) So he comes over and we meet and the guy is actually very cool and down to earth. After feeling him out (and patting him down because he's from Brooklyn
) I let him in and see what he couldn't believe was in his presence.
After picking up his jaw off the floor he and I got to talking. A deal was made and he walked (or ran!) out the house with his dream box! Part of the deal was a TDK 3 Speaker Boombox. When I got it I checked it for updates and that's when all hell broke loose. Well good ol" Jimmy says to come on over I'll try and fix it!
Well all I can say is that Jimmy is a man of his word and I can respect that. The wife had her new SLR camera and snapped away, but the pictures are too big to post up. Don't know how to shrink them so I'll try another way to post them at another time. (sorry everybody)
