My new boombox Hitachi TRK-3D8

Hi all this is my new boombox Hitachi TRK-3D8
few things need attending to
1. both tape players dont work
2. aerial is broken at base, remarkably the radio works without it however not clear.
3. the playback tape door wont open
4. large gash on the left speaker grill see last picture, this will need straightening out i guess as cant find spares
5. it seems the plastic has like some pitting even i have tried to clean it with Elbow grease cleaner brand

any thoughts or tips welcome!

You must disassemble boombox and fix all problems.
Grills look bad, but I think that can be fixed...

Tear the box down first.
Clean it by polishing it with toothbrush.
After removing the speaker chassis you can try bending the grills back.
They cannot be exchanged as they are melted/glued into the front plate.
After bending back I would cover the remaining damaged spot with one of the Hitachi typical stickers.

You’ve got your work cut out on fixing the grill. Unlike many other boxes, the grills are actually part of the front panel. They are molded into the plastic!
