Big brother joined little bro this week on the daily rotation...
GE 3-5280A & My new Blockbuster.
The little guy is currently on my nightstand. Easily my favorite mono box, I let my RC-550 go 'cause I was only listening to my pre-1962 music on my lil' 3-5280A. Better soundstage, clearer, crisper, and with a suprising amount of control from the bass, treble, and loudness functions. Normal/Cro2 switch, afc, tape counter, level meter, carry strap attachments, etc.
Only lacks aux. in.
Blastin' the Blockbuster everywhere in the house (kitchen right now.) It's thickness on the bottom end reminds me of my Tele Studio in that you immediately have to turn down the bass.
Definately makes me want to hear an SCR-8. Sure with I could find a perfect, lasting solution to the tape deck problem these seem to come down with.
All I can say is I have a new appreciation for G.E.'s.
They rock!
