I go to thrift stores on an average of twice a week.
Mikie goes in one time and BAM! come out with this huge Lloyd's.
He is lending it to me for the week to see if I can make it work.
When you plug it in there is a buzz wether it's turned on or not

That's a sweet looking box! I always wanted to get one to go with my General Sound GS-1018... Then I heard from a lot of people here who've owned 'em that they sound horrible. I guess if I ever do buy one, it'll be for the look.

thats a great score from your friend ,, now by the looks there is some problems and the buzz sound could be a lot of things or one,, its going to have to be checked to see were the problems are at and hope that it might be a simple fix to get her working again

That's rare to find that Lloyds in such minty shape, most have been beat up or at least show plenty of wear.

There may be a ground fault in the power supply loop. Have you tried it on batteries? And yes, take your freind with you...extra eyes are always good...just tell him hands off the good stuff.

It's going to take plenty of work, there's missing the metal pieces that touch the batteries.
The brittle plastic that held it in has broken off.
I'm wondering if I should say screw it, it's a show piece.
Now if it were my box ,I would roll up the sleeves and do like Glue.{put on some Sponge Bob}
Oh Man, just look at those big white woofers.
Oh well, It's great to have another buddy who owns a Boombox.
