I got this little Sanyo M7850K recently, and the tape deck wasn't working. You could hear the motor spinning, but no capstan movement at all. So I figured this is the smallest boombox I own so why not give it a shot? Thanks to the folks here i was able to identify the belt I needed and got one off eBay.

Someone had opened this up and several screws that hold the circuit boards in place were missing, but enough were there to hold it all in place. I noticed black goo all over the belt pullys and I thought someone had added that as sort of a belt dressing/anti-slip solution, but I learned this can happen from the old belt giving up. So with a good amount of q-tips, alcohol and time, I got all that goop cleaned up. I put on the new belt and gradually put the whole thing back together, plugged it in and I was thrilled to see it works!! I feel so accomplished, lol! I think I picked a great song to be the first one played with it's newly installed drive belt:

Thanks guys. What worried me the most was all the plugs I had to unplug in order to move the main circuit board. I was just worried about getting them all back in the right spots, lol I did make sure the belt was on straight and not twisted in any way. I only replaced the main belt that was easiest to get to. The other smaller belts that were a bit deeper in there seemed to look to be in great shape, thankfully.
