I don't so much 'collect' boomboxes here at the Chateaux Ghetteaux as accumulate them. Some I've purchased online or from yard sales but I mostly find them released in the wild...

Seen here is a GE 3-5635A I'd found in dreadful shape. It'd been relegated to providing tunes whilst on a worksite for some contractor. It was covered with paint flecks, most of the knobs were missing and the mechanics were in a shambles. Was able to clean it up and piece back together the mechanics. Replaced the belts and found a couple knobs for the more vital controls.
Below is a NextPlay NPF 500B CD/radio boombox. It too had been released in the wild. Only needed a new antennae and a cleaning of the laser lens as well as some cleaning and resoldering of the control buttons.

These shelves hold my collection of tape recorders including some early Phillips CarryCorder 150s (the first Compact Cassette recorders). Top left is my GE 3-5264A jambox. Top right are my Emerson PD-5098 and my Electra CT-100. Bottom right is my Sanyo C-2. The Emerson was purchased new a couple years ago. One of the few (if only) mono radio/CD players out there.

On the desk is my Sony CFP-510. Wanted one of these for years. Only recently got around to getting one. Not really worth the wait. Not a great cassette recorder and the CD player doesn't care much for burned CDs. It'll play 'em but searching is an ordeal.
On the shelf below the vintage Teac 450 is a Sony CFS-W304 I picked up at a yard sale last year. Replaced the belts but for some reason the auto stop feature isn't working - have yet to resolve that.
