Hi Guys & Gals,
Well it's a beautiful Saturday morning here in Brisbane, QLD and I've decided to dig out my 12V boxes for an outdoor blast.
In general, I use my 12 volt boxes 80% of the time when outdoors due to their light weight and compact size.
After lining them all up, I tuned them to the same FM station and then let'm rip:

JVC RC-727 (1977) - 5.0kg - Good build quality with quality switch gear and deck, nice clear sound but light on bass

JVC RC-656 (1981) - 5.0kg - Nice clear mids and highs with nice deck

Hitachi TRK-3D8W (1983) - 5.70kg - Only average build quality, muddled highs but the BASS from that fat 8 ohm centre driver makes up for it's other short comings.

Sanyo M9990K (1980) - 5.40kg - Good build quality, great tuner and deck, super nice highs and very strong in the bass department
but unlike my other 12v boxes, the M9990K has no proper line in

National Panasonic RX-5150 (1981) - 5.70kg - My 2nd most used 12 Volt box and is a great all-round unit.

Hitachi TRK-8080W (1978) - 5.70kg - Nice deck, great tuner, clear highs and mids but light on bass. I love the quality build of this box and use it the most just to admire her good looks!

Sony CFS-85S (1979) - 7.0kg - This box must rival the M9994 for build quality! Fantastic mids and highs and good bass due to the 6 speaker setup. I'm just about to re-cap the Sony to hopefully fix a few issues and I'm also looking forward to any audible improvements after the surgery. I'm predicting after the re-cap, the Sony will probably become my new top-dog!!
