I got accepted at the Hamburg University for Applied Sciences for the course of study of "airplane contrction" which is pretty cool.
Well, to make it short, I found an apartment to live in Hamburg yesterday and will be moving there by the beginning of September.

NOW - my question that comes to mind is: What boomboxes should take with me?
I have agreed with myself that I should not take more than 3. It is not a big room I have and 3 are already more than enough  .
I have been thinking back and forth to maybe take one walker, one good sounding one and a record player...or the Casio to jam on? Or what about the Lasonic as stationary box and the 850 with its stray as walker. But then I want some boxes lift in Berlin too. :-/
One thng is pretty certain, I am not gonna rotate boxes.

So give me some advise on this please.
Select three boxes you would advise me to take with me.

M70 for walking - it's loud and proud but not too heavy that you will look weak after 15 mins

V2000 for room and to play any sweet vinyl you find - it looks great and peeps will love it

777 for pose - all know what the box looks like and you have one to show off

back up box is the disco - if you get luck you can put some music on and have a show, lol

save the rest like the conion for when you get home - like coming back to the family you miss - old faithfull

cheers B :breakdance:

i voted for the 850 as the cool carry box-
the tele for your 'home stereo'
and the d-lite -- because you cant endure life without one :-D

and-- buy some portable line-in spinner for your vinyls

Thanks for your input guys  .

As far as i am settled now I am with Conion C100F, VZ2000 and Casio KX101 to jam on but I might just add the discolite too
Although actually I fell torn between Conion and M70...I mean the M70 needs use too and is great for walking :hmmm: .
The Crown 850 gives me two hands to use even while walking with it so that is an option too :hmmm:
And the GF777 would also make a great stationary stereo at home :w00t:
But the Telly Studio has much better sound..it just lacks the lassic look... :angelic:

As you see, I know why I posted the poll
Gonna let the brotherhood decide what is best

I voted the M70, Telefunken 1M, and Lasonic TRC-975. You can use the Lasonic as your "flashy" box. I don't know what college is like in Germany, but over here that Disco-Lite wouldn't last too long. It would probably be broken in two weeks.

Hi Max !

Congratulation for the study " Airplane Construction" . I think it`s`s a good way for you. And when you finish with this course, welcome to the airbus (EADS) family   We want young "constructions" :beer2:

Now to the voting: Take the KX 101 for playing the ceapy keyboard (for money on the "reeperbahn"  ), the M70 for takeaway (Landungsbrücken, Speicherstadt, Universität, etc) and the VZ2000 for playing records ! Hamburg has many good second hand records stores !

cheers

Bobby, I would NOT take the discolite to the university with me  .
The handle is soooo weak :-/ . The discolite is cool but rare enough to be a home-box only  .
it still is a miracle it survived so long - it really is the worst quality box in my collection  .

Lutz, I am so happy I got accepted  . I really like the content of airplane ocnstruction. Pretty cool stuff.
Looks like the VZ2000 will be a "must" to take with me anyway. The M70 is just playing some mix tape and is trying to convince me to take it  .
It probably is the better choice compared to the Conion which is too heavy after a while to carry around and probably too valuable too  .
The Casio can come anyway - it is small

Ahh, I am excited. Hamburg is a very nice city and the apartment I found is so nice too. Very lucky with that one.

Congrats :surf: I'm happy that everything worked out :breakdance:

My choices would be:
Sharp VZ 2000! Always impressive
Conion. Well it's the one, isn't it?

But then it's getting hard.
M70 to walk about with.
Hifi Studio is a superb home stereo.
GF-777 - classic and great in every way.
Discolite.... has lights

Bottomline, i'd take all of these :-P

My three:

C-100 - for day to day carrying
VZ - so you can listen to vinyl
DiscoLite - for picking up chicks.

Rock On.

Exactly what FD said.... My recommendations as well except I would limit it to the first two. 1M for inside low volume listening. M70 for travel, outdoors and parties. Also don't take anything to college you couldn't handle being stolen, broken, threw up on or pissed upon.

I would take only the M40 (lots of radio bands, line-in, good sound, good tape deck, efficient with batteries).

Once in Hamburg, settled in your studies and comfortable in your new environment, start going on the hunt in your new territory for in the wild finds.

 ;-)

Congratulations on your school and acceptance!!!!

Was voting the SJ instead of VZ but forgot about vinyls  . Glue's list looks perfect to me too.

Don't take any boxes at all.

Get to the Hamburg fleas on the weekends and find those grails! You'll be keeping your eyes peeled for sure.
