Fatdogs thread about the Sanyo 920 got me thinking this.
I will do a poll but first some suggestions about which maybe the most common box.

Looking at my own junk pile im thinking, M70, Lasonic 931 (1,2,or 3), Rising 20 20.
And others that spring to mind which I don't have, Sharp 777 and of course Sanyo 920.
Are C100's and M90 common amongst us or not?? Surely Discolights are fairly rare?

Please add any boxes which you think we may all have and lets see if we can work out the most common box in the family. It may end up being a Coby :-D

Depends where you're from in the world but
I'd say GF-9090, 9191, 8989.

Mind you you're probably right about M70s....ones never enough and collectors tend to have multiples. That could be a thread in itself!

I'm thinking it would be either the M70 or some GF-9x9x box. It does seem like the M70 is more ubiquitous though.

There should be a data base here that any member can go and add to the 'count' of boxes that members own. The chart/numbers would show everyone what the totals are. Then members could remove their counts if they sold or traded boxes. Could get messy over time I guess....

^^^ I like that idea!

Being that JVCs are built nice and sound great and somewhat affordable, I'd say M70 too..

I would suggest to also put the serial numbers in the database. That's pretty common with vintage cars and it's great for the collectors after us to have radios with a track record.

Joe has a great idea.
Make a poll type thread with a list of models where members can check mark which boxes they own and quantities if duplicates are owned.
List only the most popular or sought after boxes? For the sake of keeping it easy to manage.
I would also venture to say m-70 is probably in the top of the rankings myself.
In my 7+ years collecting I have had at least six pass through my hands before settling into my M-71

Yes and yes. And I would say the more simple and straight forward the better.

You know, the reason the M70 "IS" the most collected radio in our collections is because it delivers. Pound for pound it is the best radio OVER ALL, and I know this because I listened to you all and bought one, then painted it like EVH's guitar which in turn makes people smile! :-D
Win / Win
