ebay has that cheerful notice
'sorry you were outbid -- look at these other items'

the real translation for that is............

'you cheap dumb sh1ttte --you are a loser !!!
but here we have another bunch of crap --for you to
get ripped'


anyway --i have over the years --seen and won several of those
'other items' --
which i may have never seen --
if i hadnt lost the auction

--so - its often not all bad

I try not to read those emails, all the pretty pictures are mesmerizing and likely to get me in trouble buying boxes that I shouldn't.

Yeah, I also look at those “Sorry you lost, but here are some other things you might like” notices I get from eBay when I get outbid in an auction. And, as you said, because they’re sometimes items I wouldn’t have noticed any other way, I often put in a bid on one or more of them. And, most of the time, I lose those auctions, too.

So thanks to eBay, I’ve been able to double - even triple - my level of depression when I get outbid in an auction.

On ebay, coming second means you've accomplished nothing except drive up the price for the gold winner.
