Looking for 1980 Sanyo Dual Cassette Model # and Photo

Back around 1980, when I was living in California, I purchased a Sanyo dual-cassette boom box. To this day, I haven't been able to find a photo of that model anywhere on the internet, and have never seen one for sale on eBay. The closest one I found that had the same body was the single cassette M9998 (see photo). Does anyone know the model number and have a photo of one? I only used mine indoors and had a turntable connected to it. The sound was amazing. I sure wish I had kept it. Thanks, Louie.

You might want to give a little more description to help these guys guess.
Did it have any distinct features?
Did it have analog or led VU meters?
Did it have an EQ?
Etc.

All I know for sure is that the model M9998, which is shown in my post, is the only one I ever found that has an identical body (including speakers) as the one I owned. The main difference is that mine had the dual side-by-side cassette doors at the bottom, and of course, slightly different controls. The dual analog meters and their location were also the same.

That was 46 years ago, and your memory probably is lying a bit to you. If you look again at the M9998, you’ll notice that with dual cassettes, the entire bottom half of the main body would be all cassette and there’s very limited room to relocate all of the controls. There are many double cassettes boomboxes but I don’t recall any sanyos with dual analog meters like what you are describing. They did produce some lower quality ones a few years later like the C33 or like this thing, but they didn’t have analog meters as by then, most manufacturers had migrated to the cheaper and more reliable led type meters.

Well, now that you've got me thinking, I suppose it's possible that I had the M9998, but at some point, I somehow got the impression that it had a dual cassette. Maybe from remembering dual cassette players I owned in later years. Sorry for the mix-up.

It's been a long time, most memories fade by then but we still do cling to certain details. I bet you've combined memory elements thinking they might be one and the same, I think many of us old timers have done this many times in our lives, especially as we reminisce. I suggest you go to WikiBoombox.com and browse the sanyo listings. You might find something that jogs your memory. Also, Sharp produce many many double cassette boomboxes of that era. You never know what you see that might trigger something.
