Let's Talk JVC M-60!

Hi all-I have some JVC RC-M60JW's and they look nice-love the whitish dial and they do have more bass than a M-50!

But why did they make it so boring with just a FM stereo light??!!
There are 2 little lights for the pause & record but that's it!

I have 4 of these & I'm thinking of modding one with a dial light!
I think these would look way cool with a dial light,maybe even a blueish LED or just a regular white bulb like in a SK-550.
Anybody thought of doing this?
Just wondering where exactly the best placement would be & what circuit I would run the power from?
Any suggestons would be greatly appreciated!

They crank really loud,powerful,good bass & reserve to,I mean at around 8 they get nice and loud!
I think the meter is very cool and the whiteish dial makes it look cool but not enough lights!
At 18 watts draw they are relatively underated!

Let me know what you think & what you like & dislike about the M-60!
I've never seen a different version than the JW version!
I'd still like to trade one & some money for a M-80!

I don't have an M60. I think what turns me off on the M60 are the speaker grilles. They appear heavy and clunky. Other than that, it has the classic boombox look. Instead of the LED mod, maybe come up with a speaker grille mod.

Hi Bendy cat-I like the 656!! I have 2 of them & that is the M-60's cousin!!
They sound great for their size!

I have nothing negative to say about this radio because I know nothing about it. I have never seen one in person....

BUT....

It is a JVC...AND i has some sweet design features.....

I do like the white and blue tuner....SWEET!

Twin antenna's....OH YEAH!

Grill covers are standard for the time and I do think JVC did a better job than most did for the time period.

Would love to hear one!

Does it have a line in?

Hi Chris-Yes these do sound nice! Much more bass than the M-50 but of course not as powerful or as nice as a M-70 but yes I like the dial on these!

Yes has line in and all the other inputs & outputs that a M-50 or M-70 has.

If I don't give one away to this hot girl I know I will think about trading one for a M-80 or something similar or something.

I think that would be yes, as the 656 also shares the same antennae. It's good to see the M60s pictured close to the 656s, 'cause I think the 656 is a cracking little boomer. I have not heard a 60 either, but I had thought it would sound similar to a 656, and a wee bit louder.

I wouldn't mind an M60, saw one recently and it was a bit high for me.
