I am going to take the plunge and have a go at restoring my Lasonic. This is entirely new to me, I have no background in this and I'll be taking it slowly!

The lower deck does not move at all. I am guessing possibly the belts (although I would think there would be some attempt at moving - but there isn't) or maybe the motor has seized. Does anyone know what belt sizes I will need?

I have some contact cleaner and intend to use this liberally over the next few days!

Also, the left (when you face it) speaker in very muffled so i will attempt to remove this and see if there is a missing connection. I think that will be the limit of my skills.

Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated.

I will add some pictures shortly.

Pictures as promised.

Hello Mr Marky. Welcome!

I'm new to this as well. There are several restoration threads here on the board worth searching for and reading through. Though they may be restorations of different boxes many of the procedures hold true to any machine. There are also several in depth and informative videos online. Search out Teddy Hashee on youtube for example... Great channel and interesting to watch. Beyond that there are some great members here who I'm sure will chime in and assist you. They have far more knowledge and experience than I can comprehend! :)

Good luck and please share pics and info as you go through it. I Look forward to seeing your progress!
