Lasonic i931 Power Question

The i931 takes power one of 3 ways:

1: AC
2: DC
3: 12v DC via AC adaptor

There is a switch on the back, like all previous Lasonics that switches between AC and DC current.

My question:

If I plug a 12v adaptor in I have to have the power switch in DC mode. In DC mode with batteries in her will they drain while running with the 12v adaptor active?

I know it's an obvious thing that the batteries shouldn't drain, but with Lasonic gear it's always worth double checking rather than make assumptions.

From my experience, ALL DC-in connectors switch off the internal batteries, so only the DC plugpack is operating the unit...
When you pull the DC plug out, the socket re-connects the internal batteries as the main supply.

Yeah, Only my Lasonics have this switch. Everything else I have has a micro switch in the plug connector, so when you plug the cord into the radio, it switches from DC to AC.

As for the 12 v.....I dunno!

Most bbx's have the built in micro switch on plugging it in. But there are some that have the ac/dc switch like Lasonic and some panny's But as for the 12v dc in I have never used it so I guess it would have to be checked to see if there is a micro switch or not

I think you would probably run through batteries pretty quick if you leave your ipod in it, I'm pretty sure that it would charge the ipod, I guess if you wanted to charge your ipod with D cells.........
