I find it massively ironic that Lasonic included 110v/240v switches on 99% of their boxes when hardly any; if any were sold in 240v territories.

I hazard to guess it's because they had a line on a swtichable power supplies that were cheaper than straight 110v ones from their part suppliers.

Rock On.

england for boxes in the early 80s was pretty crappy,M90s,M70s - almost none,GF777 was extremely rare,i only ever seen one on a poster as a kid,Jvc Pc5,Pc55 ,sony FH was only ever seen in high end hifi shops.. when i was with my dad in a electrical shop buying my first box in 1983,i saw "1" M90,it was a customer return, and they were selling it second hand for £199,only other boxes i saw was the common Sharp GF's eg,Sharp GF8989,575,9500,990,9797,stuff like that, and they had some Vz2000=Vz2500 but they were locked in a glass unit as they were way expensive..£299,and the home ones like the Vz3000 and Vz3510 was £499.

Anyhow,as for lasonic, conion, techsonic, discolite and all those brands of boxes, masterblaster ect.. they were never sold here at all,we got the shltty deal because we were only a small island..Booooo

I know we are high jacking this thread, but in a sense, the US scored when it came to the Boombox revolution. Being Los Angeles, home of Lasonic

Of course no one scored like the Canadian's with the Conion's!
