Kraftmatic found me another rare Aiwa.

Well for a longggggg time I've had a want ad on my signature wanting a Aiwa CS-X85 and the ever elusive Aiwa TMR400 mono. Well a couple of months ago Owen sold me his CS-X85.
Well the other day Owen contacted me and said he had a something coming in the mail for me and to let him know when it arrived. Yesterday in the mail a package came from Owen,it was a small package but fairly heavy. I though perhaps it was some cassette tapes but it was too heavy for that. Well I opened the package and through the bubble wrap could see it was some kind of smallish boom box. Well when I took it out I was totally blown away as to my surprise it was a Aiwa TMR400!!!!!!
I couldn't believe it,never in a million years did I think I would ever see one no less get one as it is very rare and I've had several members looking for one for me for years. I just wanted to thank Owen for finding this rare mono for me. I've already started to restore it and clean it up as it is pretty nasty inside.

That is so awesome Scott :thumbsup: I too have a NIB mono on its way and it just so happened to be an Emerson I had back in early 80's that was my very first radio I bought with my own money from Osco for around $30-$40 new. I'm pretty excited and I know you are definitely excited since you wanted this for a long time :-D

The timing was amazing, right after Scott asked me to keep my eyes open for a TMR400 I saw this one pop up on Yahoo Japan. I was about to ask Scott if he wanted it, but then I figured he would definitely say yes so I just scooped it up without telling him. The price was good and I knew he would get me back, so I decided to have a little fun and make a personal grail just show up out of the blue... :lol:

Thanks guys. I totally disassembled the TMR400 and went through it. B)
I'm happy to report it is fully working and playing like new. :thumbsup:
The belts were the typical Aiwa gooey mess........ :sick:
