Sometimes I'll pick up an old mic just because it looks cool.....I don't actually use them. :lol:
This one reminds me of a cartoon ray gun. :lol: Apparently it was pretty popular model back in the day.

I bet that records killer.

I have a Sony mic that basically does the same thing. It's stereo separation, but it's powered by a AA battery. Originally it came with a Sony Mini Disc Player.

I recorded some amazing things with it, like the sound of snow hitting the ground on a still windless night, or thunder in the distance, wind through the trees and the distant rolling and pounding surf.

It sounds more impressive, but it was what I call "Popcorn snow". It's like small granulated snow, not snow flakes. When you walk on it, it's crunchy and when it falls it makes a sound. I will look and see if I have any recordings from this mic
