Taking my 3 year old swimming today. Glancing to my right I noticed the back of this rather obvious radio.
I have a couple already. One minter and a couple that need work. This will help with the resto.
Slammed on the brakes and threw it in the boot.
Definitely the filthiest radio I have ever owned but it works! And will clean up alright

Nice pick up

To the non Aussies, they are so common over here that people do throw them out, I know a couple of dudes who have scored them off hard rubbish or tip-shops.

RBJ - A VZ in OZ is not as valuable as OS unfortunately, the last one on ebay.au sold for $124

Wow a vz for nothing!!!...awesome!! :w00t:

I thought I got mine cheap but you can't beat free! Looks like it might be pretty good under that dirt layer

Looking forward to seeing how it cleans up :-)

Nice work Alfie. A dream score indeed. Worth it for the spares alone (especially the two original sliders!!!). These scores only happen when you least expect it. Every time i got out hoping to snag something return empty handed.

I thought of you as soon as I saw it!!!
Tshorba's right, these are so common over here if you know where to look but BOY does the adrenaline start pumping when you see one for the taking on a street corner!
There's nothing quite like a proper "wild" find :-D

Well done Alfie, I am so jealous. I am yet to pick one of these up. I love vinyl and I love blasters, so this is a must have. I won't pay ebay prices so my only hope is to find one like you did ... in the WILD.

Oh my gosh that would be cool to find. Its the size of a small car so it wouldn't be hard to miss. Nice!

That will transform into a nice looking VZ2000!

I always dream of finding treasures on the curbside when I drive through some neighborhoods.
Imagine the thrill of finding a Sanyo Big Ben or RX5350 on the curb side.. :w00t: :w00t: :-D :-D :-D
I laugh at myself after a while.

Best thing I ever found on the curb around here was an old Sony TV. I ripped the boards out for the pin connectors and left the rest.
Congrats on an awesome find! :-D
