JVC RC-M90 Cassette Issue

Hello Everyone?Anyone. I've had the good fortune to come into a JVC RC-M90 that powers up and the radio works. The cassette deck opens, but when I place a cassette inside it will not close. Any ideas as to what the issue might be ? I'm feeling so close and yet so far... any input very much appreciated.

The head assembly may be stuck in the up position. Chances are likely that the deck will need new belts, and possibly a new resistor for the solenoid circuit.
