Good morning, I have an opportunity to pick up a JVC RC-M70JW later today. Appears to be in great cosmetic shape, no missing parts, cassette plays, antenna intact. Seller is an estate sale person, no knowledge of the original condition or original owner. Seller says it plays great, loud, etc but thats about it.

Any advice, things I should check out before agreeing to buy? This would be my first chance at what seems like a decent boombox compared to my other pitiful collection of smaller boomboxes. Reviews seem to suggest its a decent radio.

Check all sliders on top when in operation. Just making sure they work evenly as they should. Anything else is easier.

RC-M70JW is a classic and must have. My RC-M70C is a fav . Make sure the cassette works , Hold the tab in that allows recording and press play and record then stop, then radio than play on cassette and see if it`s making any noise. Both sides play equal when adjusting volume. That`s about it. Post back with juicy details when you buy it!

Successfully picked up (with FB Marketplace folks, sometimes thats a victory in itself). Cassette doesnt work, everything else is great. No static, sliders smooth, great sound. I bought it with the intent of possibly flipping but its my first real vintage boombox and I’d rather restore and enjoy. So many good memories

Hard to find one in great cosmetic condition! Cassette might need new belts. It is an easy fix. I have 3 of those and only one is great cosmetically, but all I made work. Treasure it!

I hope without English everything understandable.
When I enabled closed captioning on your video, I was able to set it to auto-translate Russian into English.
It's not perfect by any means, but it does a pretty good job.
Very informative video!

Thanks, Bro. I think your computer translation more informative than my funny and simple English :)
Enjoy any move by my YouTube page!
