JVC RC-M70JW - No auto stop when rewinding and low playback torque

My JVC M70 has 2 issues :
1. auto stop does not work when rewinding. It works with play and FFW.
2. Playback torque is low. Tried adjust the wheel to high level according to the service manual but does not help.
Please help me to fix these issues.
Any thought/recommendations are appreciated.

You can gain more torque by using fine grade sand paper on the rubber pinch roller only. The capstan shaft should be very shiny and clean (don't sand).Clean up with alcohol. You should be able to test buy pressing play and try to stop the pinch roller with your finger it should take a fare bit of pressure to stop, if not maybe the spring or the roller should be replaced. I recommend replacing all belts as well.
