i always forget how big the 550 is , this man builds them from almost nothing you gotta love it! same with me only i take 10 times longer to do it.killer job restoring that big king mono jvc.

Thanks all... I didn't realize how LOUD is this radio in externals (with original 10" woofer)... ...I bought another one in Ebay, for donate parts (that one, only works with batteries and have problems in the volume pot... ...bad shape unfortunatelly).

Recently got one of these myself, i also could not believe the size of this unit, and when i can find the right track on the radio it sounds the absolute nuts

Back in the late 70s I couldn't believe the size of an RC550 when I first saw it at the airport. I had a Panny 5310 mono and thought no one got one bigger than mine.

Later it took me almost 32 years to find one in like new condition. A virgin box!

It is such a good feeling to listen to this MONSTER MONO box in dim light sipping bourbon. I am back in my 20s again....

That "feeling" is priceless.....

I still miss my 5310. Some day I love to own one.
