I brought jvc pc-r11jw from Good Wills for $15. Tuner and AUX work fine but cassette got stuck. Is it ok to open for repair cassette? One question that I connect CD player to AUX sound good but not loud until 3/4 volume. There is a switch button below switch to phono/aux. To phono sound is loud but distortion. I am new to this forum. Thank you for your time to help me as I would like to restore this boombox. I love analog sound better than cd.

Isn't that the 4-piece compo-carry with ceramic woofers. That beast is packed inside. Good luck!! I suck at that sort of stuff. I'm all about the fully working units...

This is a proper mini system but very difficult to work on without prior experience. Logic tape decks are prone to fail due to age, corrosion of contacts.
You could try a different cd player with a volume adjustment, don't use the Phono setting as this is low input and could damage the IC.

Thank Hopey for your advice not to use phono. This tape head is in excellent condition without any single scratch. If I want to restore or someone in San Jose, CA, USA can restore cassette desk with reasonable price I will pay
