Hi , i have m70 in very great clean cosmetic but not have sound on cassette !
I hear the sound as that of the radio (sheeeeeeee)and the tape sound is infinitely weakly .

Sometimes, a screeching or squealing cassette could mean the internal record switch is dirty. You will need to open the M70 and spray some DeOxit (or similar product) into the switch to clean it.

Other times, it might be fixed by pushing the REC & PLAY buttons, then STOP, then REC & PLAY, then STOP about 10 times. You will need a recordable cassette to do that.

I would try the button trick first and if that didn't work, then I'd look at the internal record switch.

Somebody else, more knowledgeable on M70s is sure to get in here. ;-)

Hi fatdog , I push the REC & PLAY buttons, then STOP, then REC & PLAY, then STOP about 10 times and the problem is fixed , but now , tape speed is slowly , I shall have to replace belts soon .

I'm glad to hear that the squeal has been fixed! :thumbsup: I learned that little trick a long time ago from a member.

There are plenty of members here who have changed belts on the M70, so if you need any help with that, don't hesitate to post. ;-) :-)

:no: They are actually a stiff plastic with rounded notches for the screws.

But I'll bet no one would ever notice the difference and I'll bet you'll sell a TON since almost every member has at least a dozen M70's. Boom Shakalaka is the exception with ONLY 5. :lol: :lol:

the plain old common silver m70 --NEEDS some color !!
perhaps thats why we have members painting them :-D :-D :-D

so -- that sticker should be the most popular seller

...the one I have has really good original paint so I would never deface it....but I would if it were silver......

:agree: Painting an M71 that's even in just average condition probably isn't smart since you will have just wiped out the rarity of the M71 and cut it's value (possibly dramatically). An M70 is a far better box to customize, they are far more common than the M71. :yes:
