And some other new faces as well!

Well I redid the BASSment...again!!! The wife said I needed to add shelving so who was I to argue?!? The wife says go spend money...not the way it usually is with HER spending the money! :w00t:  So all reconfigured here it is...(yes the photos are crappy but it's late :annoyed: ...damn that PMS!)

Also thought I'd give a bit of attention to my Pioneer PL-530, Sansui 5000X & A Receivers, Pioneer CT-F900 Deck & CR-303 Reverb, JVC KD-A33 Deck, the super nice Teac V-750 Deck I got from Jaetee, and the sweetest one, the Akai GXC-570DII (With all manuals and remote!), and of course the Sansui SP-5500x speakers! I also have a Sansui 2000a receiver, Sansui SX-1130 A/V Receiver (circa '84), and some lovely Dynaco two way speakers.

Allrighty then...now for some focus on the newest family members...

The elusive Panasonic RX-C46! (RX-C45's are as common as field mice...these, not so much.) Punchy little beast! :-D [Obtained late November 2013 as a thrifty find....]

IMG_0938.JPG

The Sanyo C7...what would big brother "The Pitbull" C9 be without the lil' pup? [Obtained late November 2013 as a find amongst a listing of all things...with underwear on eBay....]

IMG_0927.JPG

A super sweet very rare surprise...the Hitachi TRK-WX88W! Wooden speaker cases, chunky bass (yes from a Hitachi!), spectrum analyzer, logic controls, 100% working and minty fresh! [Obtained late December 2013...listed cheap enough in old radio parts on eBay...fastest, cheapest, well packed shipping from BC/Vancouver Canada...EVER!]

IMG_0928.JPG

The very powerful Sony FH-7 MKI. Couldn't let this one get by. :-D [Obtained November 2013 on eBay...this is what happens when no one sees a goofy low BIN... ]

IMG_0939.JPG

The always lovely Pioneer CK-3, in Dual Deck configuration! And super clean! [Obtained late December 2013 on eBay...located in Acworth, GA two hours away....]

IMG_0930.JPG

The super smooth JVC PC-5. I have no idea why I have never pursued this box until now knowing what it is, seeing it growing up. I have never had one in the collection surprisingly. That has been corrected thanks to Kenpat! :-D [Obtained end of December 2013, arrived in 2014.]

IMG_0932.JPG

And now about that damn PMS...Marantz PMS-3500 that is! This thing is like it just came new out the box with nary a scratch!!! 100% after a belt. Dear goodness this is a beautiful box! :jawdrop: :w00t:    [Obtained last week...eBay. Great, no...fantastic price for the condition!!!]

IMG_0937.JPG

Well that's it! I guess one of these days I'll get some "feature" photos done of these!

In all seriousness though, patience and diligence pays off. eBay can suck a lot...but sometimes, you can get on a tear with good prices and some ridiculous bargains if timing is right. Not to mention, thrifties hadn't been bad to me either in 2013. You fellas are great in keeping the drive for me going to get those I really want and taking a chance on the interesting ones that so far, have been very pleasant surprises.

You had me at BASS

Nice additions OS69, my favourite would be that Pioneer it looks solid as a rock with a nice bit of extra ccolour too.

I used to have the mk1 FH-7, oh yes sir, they pound hard

Incredible display and setup you've got there, Freddie! :w00t:

I love how you've got that settee positioned in such a way, that you can simply sit back and admire the view! :-D

Also, your boxes look mint! Well done!!

Excellent! It would take a lot of work to get my bassment in any kind of condition like that. Looks good.

Here is a question to all.

If oldskool69 plays one side of a C-60 cassette fully in each of his boomboxes successively, one after another, after how much time the first box will be played again?

Loving the view from the sofa best...I can imagine just sitting there surrounded by such beauties...you've got a definite 3 piecer bias going on there, not got a single one on my shelves lol :-)

I got a few of your boxes and 2 of that akai gxc-570d cassette deck in mint condition.
It is a bear to work on them and they weigh a tonne! :w00t:

Thanks for updating on the status of your collection. Those Akai tape decks sure brings back old memories of browsing Pacific Stereo as a teenager back in the day and dreaming of my someday fantasy collection. Funny how they look a bit less stylish today with the plain flat face, and all, than I originally remembered but the tall shape and soft logic controls sure did stick in my mind. Dibs on that CK-3 setup -- love it.

Oh my. Nice setup....and that Marantz is beautiful.
Thanks GZ! It really is a super looking box. Not the king of sound by any stretch of the measure but definitely royalty in quality and style. :-)

Simply gorgeous... you got lots of 3 PC units

Thanks Bill! These are my trademark. Though I can appreciate the M90, C100 (Conion), yadda, yadda...nothing pounds out power and says sophistication like a good component box. These are the true bridge between portable and home stereo sound quality. :-D

Thanks Retro! Got to give credit to my wife for input on the final layout.

Thanks AE! I'm not good at math...what's the answer?

Thanks Northerner! Now about that "lacking" issue you have related to component boxes...

Thank you Frank! The HP-800 is getting plenty of exercise. It really thumps too as it is now fed from a proper 250w step up transformer.
