I am guilty of using epay when sellin as I'm low income and really appreciate the money.
BUT...
What if we ALL put ALL of our boxes on epay at the same time? Flood the market with them and stop the prices continually rising soooo high... Then once the prices are established we can refuse to sell to the winner stating that the item was wrongly listed or some such excuse!
Surely then the high dollar values would come down to being reasonable. Shall we? ;-)

Wouldn't work for the long term, might make a very small impact for a very short time.

In Oz you have to be careful, there is a statute on making sure the seller sells the item on ebay. It is viewed the same as purchasing a house, car or any other item at any auction and both parties can be held liable if one wants to initiate proceedings, most people don't think it is enforceable and you can back out of ebay deals, but as I said there is a statute. I will add that I don't like it when a seller (or buyer) backs out of a transaction on ebay and don't think we should foster this within the group, shoe on the other foot and all that.

Many of us older collectors (collecting for years) have seen the change from low prices to the current market and the drop in "wild" finds but would be happy to sell boxes at market value that we paid pocket change for years back, like all marketplaces (house & car as examples) we want to buy cheap and sell high, it's human nature.

The only answer to the price issue would be ride the "hipster collector" phase out (it will happen) and wait for a change in the value of boxes or search out those wild finds by putting in the hard yards looking.
