I've been away for a couple off weeks in France (yes, very nice holiday, thanks for asking ) ...so what's new around here?

I also got some great headphones - Sennheiser HD250 Linears:

Discarded by the previous owner (my dad) because the earpads had gone manky. 10 minutes on the internet yesterday & a new pair of pads arrive this morning. After a cleanup last night (my dad is a smoker), I now have them plugged into my GF777, listening to an old Gary Numan tape.
They sound fantastic. The decks on the GF777 aren't half bad you know...

Hot score! I'm always on the look out for the old yellow foamed sennheisers.

If I ever move up from the Sennheiser PX-100, I might just give those a try. I hope they sound as good as they look!

Nice, it's tough to beat Sennheiser's.

After a lot of experimentaion I ended up with Senn's as my big cans.

Sennheiser makes great microphones and headphones. Congrats on that score!

However, if your budget for new cans is to stay under three digits, I highly recommend either the Grado Labs SR-60 or SR-80 headphones. They are a very, very good alternative to some of the more expensive Sennheisers and a fantastic bang for the buck.

For the money the Grado SR-80's are nice, I owned a pair as I was climbing the insanity ladder in my search for big cans.The only thing I really didn't care for were the scratchy earpads. I bought a pair of Sennheiser foam pads for my SR-225's that changed the comfort level and worked very nicely, sorry I don't remember what the model # was but they were under $10.
