This afternoon i went up to my summer place to have dinner with some friends, along with my wife and son. My 9 year old son had left for about 40 minutes...and came rushing back to the house all happy and proud. He went with his friend to the community "dumpsters", and found me a filthy Yorx boombox...that actually works great :-D . My son has seen me go "dumpster diving" many times, For safety reasons, i don't let him go in the dumpsters or usually play near the dumpsters, so his older friend jumped in and they did team work to get the box out of the dumpster, and safely brought to me. It even had the power cord attached to it still :lol: . I will give it a good clean-up this week-end...because under all the dust is a nice box...thanks buddy, you're the BEST!

one of my dreams is to actually find a boombox in a dumpster :lol:
would be a great payday for the 500 filthy dumpsters iv'e looked in just being nosey :lol:


i think that's great man those kids saving the box and knowing the value of preserving these even if there not a big huge grail , like you said it's the thought that counts and makes it priceless. kinda bad ass looking looking radio, i like it.

i can't blame him but my first radio was nowhere near as nice as that yorx i would traded my transistor radio for that in a second :lol:

floyd, the Yorx IS kinda cool looking...it's definitely unique :-D . Hopefully he can find me more boxes in the near future :lol:

Yep, this is a Kick A$$ little radio with built in Walkman! That walkman is the LOUDEST thing you will ever plug a set of headphones into....Before they started limiting how many dB's you could listen too :rock:

Are the woofers white or black? in your pic it looks white but some of the other pics in the thread they look black.

These Yorx boxes always remind me of "Double Dare" and "Finders Keepers". :-)

The speakers are actually white on my Yorx :thumbsup:

Just imagine how many boxes made it to the landfill...it's horrible :thumbsdown:

i like the graphics on that box looks classy and 80's perfection not cheesy looking at all.
