Yeah man, I think so!

Well, After 2 months in Japan visiting my wife it’s time to get back to real life. It was a good trip, a learning experience and although I didn’t find a plethora of vintage blaster gem’s in every store, I am returning home with my very respectable JVC/Victor RC-838 in dirty but working condition!

I am working on getting her packed up tight in my check in bag and praying the airline gods will be with her all the way to LAX.

Flying from Okinawa, to Tokyo to LAX and then a 3 hour drive home makes for a 30 hour door to door ride.

So if you don’t hear from me in a few days or a week, trust me, I will be back with tear down pictures as well as pictures of the new toy with all the whole collection at home!

I do want to say to the Boomboxery brothers in New Zealand and Australia, it was great being in your time zone and chatting with you LIVE in the boom room. If I’m ever up that late or that early, I look forward to B.S.n’ with ya again!

We all need to do the BOOM ROOM PARTY Part II real soon too!

PEACE!

PACKED up and ready to fly! This box was encased in my clothes and put in my luggage.

Hey Guys, thanks for all the travel wishes....I MADE IT!

30 hours door to door and the radio survived the trip!

So the $4.60 JVC / Victor RC-838 is now an American! I've already thrown some batteries in it and hit a few friends houses!

Tear down and More pictures coming soon!

Welcome back to our side of the world.

Did you ship the Victor back or did you take it on the plane with you?

Yep, managed to get the radio home safe! I wrapped it back up in the bubble wrap in came in, put it back in the cardboard box is came in, then rolled up all me tee shirts that were going in my luggage and stuffed them into the box all around the radio, then put that box in my large luggage bag and put more clothes around the box. I watched it go through the x-ray machine at the airport!

That bag was checked through Los Angeles and it showed up safe and sound!
