I thought about this a few days ago.. It's sad living in a world without people like Prince..
I play his Greatest Hits cd in the shop every other night and jam out!

I knew, I just knew, I had to put my headphones on to listen to this - and I was right. This is an amazing piece of music and it saddens me deeply to think of the future music will never now know from this fantastic artist, musician and talented entertainer.

As popular as he was, I think he was still way under rated!

But the hardest part is how he went. When I think about Kevin DuBrow, lead singer of Quiet Riot, I think about WHAT IN THE F%^K ARE YOU DOING STILL PLAYING WITH HARD DRUGS? Same goes for Michael Jackson. All these guys were in their 50's and I understand that they had all the money in the world, which equals COMPLETELY OFF THE LEASH. But it's your responsability to say "Hey man, it's my job to stay alive, not someone else to stop me from killing myself". So many of these guys partied HARD in their 20's, meaning they were partying hard in the mid 1980's when cocaine was a fashion statement and widely accepted (I know I was accepting! ). But where many Rock star's never made it out of the 80's, these guys made it into their 50's and yet still killed themselves with drugs. Come on man!!!! Now Michael Jackson, Prince, Kevin DuBrow and even Keith Emerson's body of music will be punctuated not by the success of their music, but the fact that they killed themselves in the end. As a fan of their music, it hurts when I hear it.

This past week a few Boomboxery members hit Venice beach again, we were cranking up tunes as we do. Did it all day long, but when Michael Jackson came through the speakers, people FLOCKED TO US and we're dancing around us on the boardwalk. As wonderful as that is, it still holds 10% sadness in it.

These girls started dancing when they heard Michael's music!

Chris,

Unfortunately Prince was suffering from an old hip injury due to all on stage performances and was on pain prescription somehow he was taking some kind of stronger opioid lets be clear here ladies and gentlemen as big pharma like to call it that way well it is ****ing Heroin okay!!!!!

I guess the drug may have caused some kind of reaction due to other medications he was under and mixing those together spelled disaster for Prince. The Purple One was never really into drugs so they say but I tend to believe it because if he was boy back in the 80's when Coke was 90% percent pure you would have heard something about him using it or landing in the hospital.

In my opinion he unfortunately died of misuse of a blend of prescription which took his life or who knows there some saying he may have been killed. May his soul rest in peace!!

And yet the Florida politicians still say Marijuana is more dangerous what a big ****ing JOKE!!

That's basically what killed Elvis. He mixed a bunch of "Prescription" drugs from numerous doctors and BANG! DEAD!

Still such a waste...

I think about it all the time, my daughter's favorite song is Purple Rain. So we listen to Prince quite often.

She's not even 2, almost though (Nov 3rd)

I just watched an episode of New Girl last night and he was in it (season 3, the wife was watching it honest) such a cool dude.

I love that no one has painted anything on or near the Prince peace, respect is there for the man.

Even though I haven't even heard a 1/64th of this talented-funkin dudes library, it's all exquisite!

The thing I miss and admire most is his drive and passion!
