I got me a clunker...

It needs a lot of love (many problems), but I'm LOCO over the looks of this radio (two color vertical LED VUs!!)

I really don't have time for it right now, maybe a good winter project. I thought I'd grab it since I don't see this model that often...

Any opinions on this one guys (and Walkgirl)???

I only called it a clunker, because it needs so much work: overall cleaning, switches and pots cleaned and lubed, new belts. etc.

But maybe the seller is honest, and its as good as others that were listed as "minty."

The front face seems in good condition...

I don't remember much about Montgomery Wards. My parents bought a Zenith TV there (it worked forever), and I remember these funny lamps called "rain lamps" that had oil slowly driping down nylon line. The oil was pumped back to the top so the process was continuous. VERY trippy...

I'm not bored with this one yet. It followed me around all weekend.

Anyone who says aesthetics isn't important in boomboxes is probably not being honest, or hasn't dug deep enough into their subconscious. Beautiful clunker, analogboi.

Sound is strong and clear, i love it.
It also owns wide-stereo.
The touch of the box is very solid.

The only thing i hate at it:
The VU´s are only working with tape!
Would be nice to see them flashing to the radio... :'-(
