Hi,I got my belts from Studiosound earlier this week and I started to
belt the first of 4 boomboxes!
The first was the Sharp GF-9797E. It went well and the belts fit perfect.
I did a little cleaning on the pulleys and checked everything out and
cleaned the inner part of the flywheel also.
Play is great,FF is great, rewind a little sluggish but still works-just the
notorious rewind spring for the wheel that goes against the flywheel
that makes it go.This is an inherit bad design, the spring loses tension
and makes the rewind not the best.
I just have to adjust the azimuth, and re-check speed.New belts may have
slowed it down just a hair, but speed is still close!
I love this Boombox,it cranks!!
I bought belts for (2)GF-8989II's GF-9494,and finally my GF-9696Z!
Tomorrow it's the 8989II!
I spent over 8 hours outside buffing out the truck-3 step and then the
belting of the 9797 and then fixing a small bb chip on my window!
Hit 67 today and man I'm tired!!
