I have some old vhs tapes, just need a player.

I just ordered an 'excellent' condition one from ebay. It arrived, I plugged it in, and it wouldnt even play. :sad: :no:

I'll throw it on the stack of about half a dozen other players that do not work either.

Anyone know of a reliable source for a good quality, working vhs player?

Did. I've returned 4 vhs players in the last month. None of them worked correctly. :sadno:

I was thinking of buying a used DVHS player from ebay. But with my luck with these things, it would arrive damaged or broken, and I would be out 200$.

Maybe I'm just having a bad month. I ordered a turntable, and it arrived last week. It was almost broken in half.

You could probably get several from a thrifty and take your chances. At least if it's a church run thrifty you know you're doing some good. But I know people who've walked in and gotten good ones. :yes:

I picked up a good one at a yard sale, deceased estate, Sony Stereo Hi-Fi w/ remote, all working well. $5.00.

Summertime = yard sales.

yard sales. :hmmm: . ok.

Im thinking most donated vhs players to thrifty stores probably have some kind of issue, or they would just have stored it instead.

But, yard sale, its at their house so less likely to try to pawn off something bad. Might work.

Also you could ask em for a demonstration, plus get to see inside and look for Boomboxes. :-D
