A while ago a science museum-type place had this cool exhibit I went to. Here's the official description:
"Come and explore the technology, creativity and craft behind modern pop songs in this new, original exhibition that offers unique, fun and inspirational experiences around the writing, recording and performing of music."
It had a lot of interactive tech like turntables wired to simplified recorders and mixers so you could do a quick little mashup, and mics and instruments for the same. Overall pretty cool.
